At CSFB BB conference Lew Wilks, Qwest Pres of Internet & Multimedia in his remarks said they would soon be up to 19 built
local loop cities and then later in response to Governelli question
on further local loop development said "local is a function of market
segment. For high end (business customer) build by leveraging wireless technologies as well as fiber as alternatives appear in each
market. Medium, small and consumer (market segments) will use whole range of DSL and cable modems." Up at panel aftewards,
sited wireless as good suburban technology, makes sense if spectrum
not overvalued, and indicated detailed famaliarity with business plan of lowest valued high frequency public company.

Level 3 exec Ron Vidal never mentioned wireless but pooh poohed
how many obstacles regulation, RBOCs continue to throw up and how DSL clecs don't control their copper. In essence he too made
the case for ubiquitous wireless footprint.
