If you are making money, who cares about $1500? It's a write off for a San Diego Vacation. Dentists do these type of conferences/vacations all the time. I just didn't want to have to go to dental school, and then have to look in people's mouths.

Before I start, I will say that I respect both Pluvia and Anthony as traders. Nothing will change that. The following is my "objective" analysis of what's going on.

Pluvia's observations with regards to Anthony's calls and prices is not inaccurate -- I have noticed the discrepancies myself -- but I am willing to take Anthony's explanation at face value. (For comparison, TJ's called prices are often 1/2 or even 1 point off.)

Matthew Tyson's accounting of Anthony's calls may not be exact or scientific, but it beats the hell out of TJ's accounting of his calls and it shows some effort on Anthony's part to be a transparent organization, which is good.

What about Anthony's private site? I have posted several times that I think it is a good business decision for Anthony *and* a good value for active traders, if Anthony's record remains notable. If nothing else, Anthony's reputation is on the line. People with big egos love to succeed and hate to fail, and I think it would be accurate to say that his reputation is worth more to him than whatever subscription dollars that might come in.

If Anthony's calls aren't worth dung, then people won't remain subscribers and his reputation gets tarnished; If Anthony's calls are profitable, then people will remain subscribers and his reputation improves even more. The success of the site rests entirely on the quality of Anthony's picks. In some ways, Anthony's reputation as a great trader, at least amongst the SI crowd, is on the line.

Only time will tell whether Anthony is making the right decision with regards to the private site.

Pluvia....I certainly respect your opinion about what kind of situation has developed here, and you are correct in your motivation to educate novice investors about what it really takes to be a good trader. Alot of your points are well taken in that if a novice trader would apply money to educate themselves on how to evaluate stocks, then eventually he will be able to make short and long picks on his own DD rather than depend on someone to do the picking and evaluation. I understand your motivation in educating most inexperienced traders about the dangers of idolizing all the supposed "Gurus" who tout themselves as knowing more than any other traders about how to trade stocks and its admirable. Nowadays with all the information accessible on the internet, one never knows if such information is legitimate or not and everybody should always be cautious of that information.

On the other hand..........

I don't see any reason why a person such as Anthony can't come on the internet.....for as long as he has been.....provide a forum by which thousands of traders could access trade picks( mostly accurate ones)...stick his neck out and post almost ALL of his picks, gain or loss (even with the help of other traders)...provide legitimate information and discussion, and back it up......and then get absolutely NOTHING for it??...I mean c'mon. He has an absolute right to charge and make money from his services because whether you agree with his motivations or not, he has a right to benefit from all this work and time of posting and putting his neck on the line amd make money from it. Myself personally, I am beginning to build a number of investors who are giving me money to trade for them and I am taking a percentage from them and I DESERVE to earn money from them because I am providing them information they wouldn't ordinarily have access to. So why can't Anthony with his experience and knowledge do the same thing?? His website is just another tool in helping traders evaluate new stock ideas and opportunities.
