I just upgraded my modem from a Cardinal 28.8 to a US Robotics 56k. This has made a huge difference in my ability to use RealPlayer. Now, the audio is consistently listenable, while the video is still in the talking dog stage (the miracle is that the dog talks at all.)

So far, everything nominal, and they have moved on to Loral/Orion propaganda and related features.
