The Dow Jones Industrial Average had its second loss in the last seven
sessions today as investors showed some concern over a jump in bond
interest rates. After reaching another milestone yesterday, the Dow lost
128.58 points today to close at 10,886.11. The market was also hurt by
profit taking after jumping from the 10K record to 11K in just 24 trading
sessions. The Nasdaq dropped 50.46 points to finish at 2,485.12. The S&P
500 lost 22.63 points to 1,332.00.

The Russell 2000 slipped 0.69 points to end at 432.59 and the S&P Small Cap
600 closed virtually unchanged at 173.23, a drop of 0.03 points. The
Wilshire Small Cap Index fell 2.27 points to 633.34. The Individual
Investor Small Cap 500 lost 1.76 points to stop at 187.56.

The TSE 300 fell 27.21 points to finish at 7,054.76. The big movers in the
sub-indices were Conglomerates with an increase of 2.36%, Metals & Minerals
and Financial Services both had losses of 1.60% and 1.31% respectively. The
VSE dropped 7.43 points to 450.17 while the ASE added 8.61 points to close
at 2,316.83. Gold slipped 70 cents to $286.90 per ounce for June contracts.
Brent Crude Oil went up 36 cents per barrel to $16.93 for June delivery and
WTI rose 7 cents per barrel to $18.92 for June delivery.
