my mother lost all her teeth as a malnourished teenager during the depression...when I was a kid, if I ever mentioned the stock market, she'd pull out her false teeth and put her toothless mouth about two inches in front of my eyes and scream "the stock market did this to me". Gawd, I didn't know what it was and I didn't much care to find out. To her, bankers and big business were criminals and the stock market was a casino. (well, maybe mom was onto something). I wonder if we'll see another generation like that.
