I've become quite a fan of these graphing/chartist sites.
I haven't a clue if they're meaningful, but they
sure make pretty pictures.

Anyway, fwiw, today's action was half retail and
half institutional/other. The fact that we weren't
100% retail (unlike in our past), is, I would infer,
A Good Thing.

You called it, Mark. GMGC is always entertaining if
not necessarily profitable. I can't ever recall holding
a $5 stock that generated such action, ruminations and endless
conspiracy theories.

Speaking of conspiracy theories.

I also don't believe BellSouth is "the news" that drove trading
last week. We GMGC cult-members understand the
deeper spiritual significance of the BellSouth
deal, but the broader market isn't likely
to care. Seems far too weak to drive a trading spike. No,
I still believe something else is coming, which has generated
all these rumors and innuendo. Partnership or acquisition,
with the probabilities on partnership.

Apple rumor. When is the last time Apple made a sizable
acquisition or partnership? I don't recall one in recent
history. On the other hand, GMGC was founded by Apple
alumni and the roots go back quite deeply. For instance
Andy Hertzfield, creator of the Mac ROM, was a
founder of General Magic. Also, Apple
is way out of the internet/voice/portal/workgroup picture.
Their last comm effort was e-world, which got obliterated
by the web. A deal with GMGC would put them back into
the thick of things. Who can say? It all depends on the
random nueron firings in Steve Job's head. And he
took too much LSD in his youth.

I also find it interesting that these rumors run the gamut.
MSFT, SUNW, APPL ... Assuming, for the moment, that there
is a real foundation for these rumors (that this is not just
a conspiracy by TokyoJoe), the fact that so many buyers
are mentioned might indicate that Markman is shopping the
company. Getting competitive bids. If true, then the
BellSouth deal is doubly significant, in that it validates
the gmgc carrier strategy thus making gmgc a more valuable
acquisition/partner.

Also, I'm sure Elvis is involved here somehow. More on
that later.
