I don't think it's the lack of shorts. It's "fundamental" selling this time. People are uncertain about Amazon future earning and revenue growth. So, the shorts will become braver and will not cover on panic.

Amazon is technically on a major down trend, so you'll do better to "sell the rally" than buy the dip, as evidenced this afternoon. I still believe this is one great company in its early stage, but its stock is a completely different story.
