...the one thing that is nice about Metastock is that all the
trend lines, support lines, moving averages, channels, symbols, etc.,
that you draw on a chart, stay on the chart if you want. If you are
following a big group of stocks I think Metastock would be a very
benifical to a beginner. It would allow them to follow trends and
watch how they develop. You draw on a trend line and the next day you
see it broken...what happens next?. If you are using a web based free
program you will never get to do this and I don't think you will ever
learn TA to its full extent....


That's a great point...it's one of the most appealling features of
Metastock. I've got zigs and zags and sh*t all over my charts. I
guess it comes down to how many stocks the beginner would be
interesting in following.
