Paul & AMD-thread-mates,

This is in line with National trying to run away from x86 PC biz.
It also is clear that it will be tough to compete with Celeron and Whitney at sub-400 Mhz level until someone comes up with an alternative to Whitney for AMD.
The question is how will AMD respond in the mean time:
a) Move more production to high-end?
b) Move more production to lap-top? Or
c) Take the beating in ASPs and continue at the low-end?

Any thoughts? Any supporting info or any rumors from reliable sources?

Chuck

Paul - RE: "How about a complete E-Machines line up: $399, $499 and $599
PCs - all with Intel Inside.

No Cyrix.

No AMD.

Just Celerons - 366 MHz & 400 MHz."

Soooo, how much did Intel pay them to do this. ;)
