No money ever changed hands hence there were no "investors" in webnode...

this is obviously the only logical line of defense, for claiming that a false and misleading press release was simply an april fool's day joke would probably not amuse the judge. so hopefully they won't nail you for willfully misleading investors after all, but what about for intentionally harming business wire's reputation as a reputable news service by exposing it - uh, i mean - portraying it as a paid advertiser or stock promoter...
