HAL9000,

Thank you for your well worded contributions to the thread. It is refreshing to hear an opposing opinion that isn't laced with innuendo or hearsay.

My interpretation of the laws (or acts) that you have referenced all require profit, or an exchange of something of value (usually monetary in nature) to be invoked. Since Webnode did not accept any money, did not have the ability to accept money and did not ever intend to accept money, I think these referenced laws may not be applicable in this instance. Furthermore, I think it might be a bit of a stretch to call the Business Wire press release an advertisement. Clearly it was a spoof... A prank... An April Fool's joke... A paid press release yes, but not a paid advertisement... Just my opinion though...

Hi HAL9000, Tahnks for stopping by—good to hear a dissenting opinion express their point with reasoning rather the rhetoric endemic of other unhappy campers; so welcome aboard.

To answer your 'fee' question: BW is a membership organization. One pays a membership fee ($100), and then a 'per release' fee ($65).
