PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1999--Vcall, Inc., the leading broadcaster of investor events on the Internet, today announced the results from its Radio Wall Street ''Vcallapolooza'' Internet Investor Conference, billed as the world's largest conference call.

The event consisted of 51 live broadcasts including interviews with senior executives of leading Internet companies and key Wall Street research analysts.

Among the most highly attended events were an Internet market overview with analyst Henry Blodget from Merrill Lynch and an interview with David Andonian, President of Business Development and Operations at CMGI Inc. (Nasdaq: CMGI - news). CBSMarketWatch.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKTW - news), Excite, Inc. (Nasdaq: XCIT - news), InfoSpace.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: INSP - news), Net.B@nk, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTBK - news), Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq: ORCL - news), Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE - news), Sanchez Computer Associates (Nasdaq: SCAI - news), Sovereign Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: SVRN - news), and VerticalNet, Inc. (Nasdaq: VERT - news) were among the other companies taking part in this history making event.

''Vcallapolooza'' was broadcast live for 12 hours on Wednesday, April 14th and was the largest and longest Internet broadcast of its kind. Investors can listen to replays of the conference free of charge at the Vcall website at www.vcall.com.

Vcall reported that they recorded over 88,000 listens to the live event, and over 171,000 listens including replays during the first two weeks. ''We received calls throughout the day from companies that wanted to participate in the conference,'' said David Bauman, President and CEO of Vcall. ''Our mission is to bring investors into the inner circle of corporate executives and industry leaders. The results show that Vcallapolooza was a terrific success for companies, investors, and our sponsor, DLJDirect.''

Larry S. Kramer, President and CEO of CBSMarketwatch.com, Inc. said, ''Anything that allows us to go into detail about our Internet businesses, responding to questions from the listeners, feels good. People are buying into what the future is. They buy based on the vision of the company and its founders, and that kind of information came across best in Vcallapolooza's question-and-answer format. Audio streaming of conference calls, like those provided by Vcall, is another great benefit to investors who, up until now, have been left out of the loop.''

In addition, Vcall announced that the average amount of time a user spent on the Vcall site during the conference was over 25 minutes, making it one of the ''stickiest'' financial information sites.

Investor interest extended to other on-line broadcast services. Bloomberg Online broadcast 7 Vcallapolooza events on their website. They reported that 4 of the 7 were among the top 50 most accessed stories that day.

The popularity of the event with the investment community brought interest and reporting from many in the media including Dow Jones, USA Today, CNET, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Bloomberg and The Associated Press.

The conference ended with a wrap-up roundtable discussion led by Joe Besecker, President of Emerald Research and founder of Vcall. The roundtable, including most of the participating interviewers, focused on the day's highlights and profiled participants including CMGI, CBSMarketwatch.com, Safeguard Scientifics, and Sanchez Computer Associates.

Joe Besecker was quoted as saying, ''Vcallapolooza exceeded even our most optimistic expectations, demonstrating the enormous power of the Internet and the individual investor. Events such as this level the playing field for the individual and provide them with the information they want, when they want it (in real time and archived) and at a price they can afford - free.''

Founded in 1997, Vcall is the leading broadcaster of investor events over the Internet, serving over 300 public companies and over 150,000 investors. In addition to its flagship investor relations communications service, Vcall operates Radio Wall Street, which broadcasts interviews and roundtable discussion panels with senior corporate executives and industry analysts.
