Thanks Adelle, also some interesting musings from my dad, SrQuadK, former Wall Street Venture Capitalist during the 70s-80's on value investing for the individual investor. He's my top mentor, has taught me a lot of great stuff, and is almost always right! Great stuff for those considering alternative investment strategies IMHO. ===;-), QuadK with super long late 60's hair. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ An individual investor has significant potential following a patient, homework-oriented, contrarian strategy in the current investment environment. Today's investors are affected by the intense trading of the momentum players as well as the "herding" instincts of the mutual funds and others who have their performance evaluated quarterly. Aware of these extraordinary forces affecting stock valuations, the individual investor can successfully apply a contrarian-style investment strategy that is based on active homework of the public information available on a specific company and industry, PLUS a lot of patience. Now, case in point...NOVL: Everyone who has been following Schmidt's strategy knows the company's new focus on the internet with NDS as the core technology. Schmidt has been delivering a stream of exciting new products, some having significant potential. These new products, over time, will gradually develop an increasing revenue stream and higher profits. Clearly, the stock price action over the past 16 months reflects some of this potential...but, negative sentiment for tech stocks and some continued denial about NOVL still affect the price today. However, Schmidt has been crystal clear about his vision for NOVL. But, it's our job to try to understand what is unfolding here and what the potential can be. Do your homework, reread the company's press releases as well as reviews by professionals...then visualize the potential and have the patience for it all to unfold... Strategy worked very successfully over past few years with turnarounds & buyouts that unfolded with NOVL, T, LSI, VLSI, FORE...staying very focused. one humble opinion....SrQuadK
