What's even more interesting to me that RDRAM in PCs is RDRAM in Sony's Playstation II. I was talking with a programmer from Origin Systems (the ones who make the massively multiplayer role playing game called Ultima Online) and he was saying that companies like his are definitely paying attention to Playstation II because it has the best polygon rendering engine on the planet. So if Play II can deliver what they say they will, we could see a massive shift from PC upgrading cycle to buying multipurpose peripherals like Play II.

Now I know that this is only one segment of the market, but Play II will be for all those people that just want Internet, email and gaming. That's a bigger segment than most think.

But for this thread, it all boils down to how will this benefit Rambus. Well, Play II is expected to sell about 50 million boxes. So you guys can do the math on how much revenue that will generate Rambus.

Tenchusatsu...thatnks for the info..I was hoping that some benchmark testing was or will be available earlier than when Camino is released by INTC...

Was hoping some prototype boxes with Camino chips were or will be tested on a variety of benchmarks stress testing models sooner than Sept.99.
