<T>

Do you think <T> spent $60b or so for Media One so it can pump the Disney channel into people's homes?

My point is that the internet/TV/phone businesses are converging. T bought Media One so it can supply broadband internet connection, cable TV, cable phone, video phone, interactive TV (programming on demand -- ie: I want to watch "Die Hard" right now, at 12:58pm), and whatever future communications potentials come by.

AOL was so scared of T's acquisition of Media One that is almost used it stock to help Comcast buy it -- it was a strategic defensive move and not an offensive move. Why? With T pumping internet via cable to your home, why would you need to call out (on T's phone line, no less) to AOL to get your internet connection?

It's going to be huge.
