I'd love to see your two speculations on gold, as well as your current top 10 list. Thanks.

Hi, Earlie. Re: Iridium - bonds now 30 cents or so on the dollar. Wondering, though, whether implications are so dire for MOT. Reasoning that I am hearing is that with system already up, it will generate revenues, and MOT may well own it for pennies on the dollar. Not sure how it all plays out, but Iridium clearly is a valuable asset capable of a healthy revenue stream. If MOT's the only soldier left standing, don't they make out ok?

Earlie,

On Gold.

>>If any members of the gang are similarly afflicted, I'll happily provide some thoughts on one or two decent speculations.<<

I've had similar thoughts for the last year or so for the same reasons. The problem with gold is that there seems to be a large vested interest in demonetizing it, making it illegitimate as an investment option, and otherwise depressing its price.

Everything from dealer verbal trashing, central bank sales, central bank leasing, forward sales and everything else possible keeps the price down.

And I've seen some reasonable analysis that suggests that these are not all "free market" activities.

So that even if the gold bugs are right in the long run, I suspect that anything and everything will be done to depress its price in the mean time to advance the agenda of fiat money and protect all the short positions etc...

Earlie,
<<<In future years we will look back and ask how we could have let this situation happen>>>

Are you referring to the financial markets or the Clinton presidency?
Both will leave people wondering how things like that could have happened and why no one had a clue or cared.

Earlie,
Yes, I have been thinking about gold as well. Last year Fleck pointed out some companies that he thought had value: TVX, Getchell, and what is now Anglogold come to mind. Since you Canadians are the acknowledged experts at mining the yellow metal, I would love to hear what you have dug up. <g>
/Kit
P.S. Thanks for the update on Rambus.

Earlie, We will hire Cobalt Blue to represent us. Mainly to keep her from going to the other side. She knows this thread too well to carry the flag for the corporate crumbs. <g>

Did you ever see the Slate piece on Gretchen's article? A bit of a slash and run, but no answers for the pertinent questions raised. The author, James Suckonitetski, knocked Gretchen (and you and Fred Hickey, by association) for using selective data, then used extremely myopic selective data to prove his case. What a joke!

Rambo is the only chip stock to get wacked today. I am shocked they are running MU again. They never learn. <g>

Why did you send this to me? Lets see he has contacts with Samsung but they refused to talk to him. Nonetheless, he has a personal opinion anyway on Rambus based on other contacts. So lets see, he feels so good about the first contacts he felt the need to check things out with his Samsung contacts ( just in case ) who in turn refused to speak with him. Undaunted, he is still bearish. Thank you for such an informative opinion. Now if you will excuse me I shall go out and ask my neighbor what he thinks.
