I was sitting in the doctors office today reading a week old copy of Business Week. Rather interesting article of Compaq's woes. It seems that all of a sudden the press has discovered the problems we have seen with Compaq for the past couple of years.

The article questioned the wisdom of the Tandem and DEC acquisitions, entry into the sub $1K market, use of channels, failure to eliminate channels, failure to establish a BTO plan, etc. Most interesting of all, the article indicated that Rosen believes that Compaq's problems were not in strategy (which he maintains was correct), but in execution. So long as Rosen continues to believe that Dell will have clear sailing.

Amazing how acute hindsight can be with some of these analysts. What were they saying in December? Now just how much do these guys get paid?

TTFN,
