Kash - Re: "The SSE so far has been a joke just like MMX and 3dNow
IMHO at least so far."

3DNOW is a JOKE, yes.

But there are tons of MMX software and already the Pentium /// SSE has support from a LONG LIST of workstation and graphics suppliers.

I posted such a list to McMannic last week - do you want me to re-post it?

Paul

"The SSE so far has been a joke "

My marketing person who is a heavy user of Photoshop does not think so.She found this link

www4.tomshardware.com

and is clamoring for a Pentium III. I am urging a wait for Coppermine, but am having a hard time getting her to live for another few months with a 1 year old Pentium II 300.

Ref- Other Issues

I am not going to argue on details, but I will stand by my assertion:

AMD will not gain market share and make a profit, on K-7, unless the K-7
has dramatically better technology than Intel. So far K-7 appears to be marginally worse to marginally better than Intel.[ Depending on your bias]. This marginal parity will not allow AMD profitable existence, unless it downsizes significantly.
