Tar, I agree with you. I still say that T has more to gain from a deal with AOL than vice versa at present. That might change in a year or two, but T needs local phone access and eyeballs to populate whatever broadband service they offer. There are only about 400k current cable subs. They will also absorb high costs in upgrading the cable infrastructure. AOL has a robust MCI/Worldcom network, rolling out DSL with Bell Atlantic this summer, offering wireless this summer with their AOL Anywhere device, 17M subs, and have better control over their future costs.
