Jody,

But that kind of ability to monitor and identify misuse is EXACTLY the kind of thing that many IT managers are looking for in today's world. (eg: Who spends all day surfing the net, are the sites relevant to work, etc.)

And I don't particularly see anything wrong with being able to "monitor" your children's activities. Might have made a difference in Colorado recently.
