Spoke with a friend in the infrastructure div being transfered on Sat.
I don't think I am violating his confidence by stating the following:
Basically, he confirmed your reports. Said they were all being offered some sort of bonus if they stayed for a given time which effectively values their options at $180. Sounded pretty good on Sat. with Qcom at 195, less so today

He reported that there was a partition amongst those affected: those who thought teh deal great, and those who thought it stunk. My friend seemed in the former group. As he said, given the way the value has risen while working at Q, he couldn't complain.

We didn't discuss who was paying for the deal. My friend did say that without a fairly generous offer Ericy would have lost all their staff. Imagine that: an infrastructure division with only structure, and no people.

Glad to read some people have sense of fairness while they get rich.
