Maybe no more than a gut feeling, but the stock has nose-dived the past week on no news (and earnings that weren't understood very well -- DGV eliminated their debt, from what I understand, and it caused the numbers to not be as high as some would have liked). It's ripe for resurrection (along with the other tech stocks that have bottomed out on bad earnings this past week or so, stocks like NN, etc.). I spoke with people from DGV today at the Real Networks Conference. The minute I told Brian Berlin (Dir of Sales, Western Region) I was an investor, he interrupted me with one word: "Buy." I smiled, and told him that I alreay had. "BUY. Buy more." I asked why. He couldn't tell me. But he said that I would be very happy for having followed his advice. I got the feeling that he was talking near term, too. I went back later to pick his brain (as well as that of Patti Bodner, VP of Worldwide Marketing), hoping to get some tangible news (I understood very well that I was talking to sales people who get paid to, well, sell!). It came out indirectly that a press conference will be held tomorrow, with significant news announced there (A new product to be announced, as I understood it). I also overheard them tell a Gartner Group analyst (or whatever they call themselves) that their MS Windows Media version of their product will come out by next month. Both pieces of news are big. But I don't get the feeling that even these are what Brian was referring to when he emphatically told me to buy. Something is going on, and it feels big. That said, DGV's track record shows leaps upward, and then gradual pullback (Like most stocks, I suppose, but this one is fairly predictable). The stock closed up today, and I have a feeling it's going to continue to move through Thursday, Friday, and into next week (as more people hear about the conference, see the PRs, etc.). I won't put a price point on it, because I'm simply not aware of how big the "big, imminent" news is. But I think we could at least touch the 17 mark DGV hit a few weeks back. To be honest, I think it will surpass it. I just don't know how long it will stay at that high. That's why I suggested it as a "flying turd" to you. I like DGV for the long term. But I'm not stupid: I'll sell into the highs and buy when the price recedes a bit. I'm just suggesting that now is a very good time to buy DGV. Even for His Pinkiness. I'm not a hypester. I'm not a spammer. I just feel exceptionally positive about the near-term potential of this stock after talking with DGV today. Rhino
