Politics aside, there is no way this merger cannot be approved. There is no competition in cable so to combine 2 monopolies is NOT anticompetitive - same logic applies to the approval of the baby bell mergers. Further, this merger is the only way meaningful competition is injected into local residential markets in the near term. Politicians will sound off but I do not believe anything (some small concessions) will prevent this deal.

For us T holders, this is very positive news = Bigger is better, concentration is better, bundling is better = the more we can lock in our customers with local, wireless, video and internet, the longer we can hang on to the 50% long distance revenues because the baby bells will be fierce and very successful competitors in that market. Bought some more at the open yesterday - glad I did.
