Jill,
My neighbor at the beach house has a son graduating with a degree in finance near the top of the class and he asked me about a career in brokerage. I suggested he get a job for living expenses and learn how to trade online and really make some money rather than a sales job for a brokerage. He needs the security of a job now until he finds out that he will be selling a product rather than his ideas. I told him about QCOM @ 70 so he is kinda interested in learning how to trade for himself. Entering the broker business is tough at this time with the shift to online brokers as you point out. Someday E*Trade will also offer full service brokerage at a higher rate but less than the traditional brokers charge if there is a need. Buy E*Trade stock.

Jill,
Yes, there will ALWAYS be folks around who do not wish to trade online, just as there will always be people who do not even wish to own a PC. Yogi
