****NEWS RELEASE****

Starfield Resources Inc -
Starfield completes $750,000 private placement
Starfield Resources Inc SRU
Shares issued 8,100,000 1999-02-04 close $0.6
Wednesday May 5 1999

Mr. Glen Indra reports
Starfield was halted from trading by the Alberta Stock Exchange on Feb. 5, 1999, pending receipt and approval by the ASE of a filing statement, a reporting letter and the company raising $500-million for use on exploration expenditures on a property at Ferguson Lake, Nunavut, as described in Stockwatch March 5, 1999, and raising $200,000 for working capital.
The company has recently completed a private placement of special warrants at 50 cents per special warrant, which resulted in the company raising $750,000. The special warrants consisted of one common share and one share purchase warrant which, with the payment of 60 cents, is convertible into a further common share until April 23, 2000. As well, the company has filed a filing statement and reporting letter with the ASE. The above completes the requirements of the ASE for the reinstatement of the company's shares for trading shortly after the opening on May 7, 1999.
Andrew Rockendel has resigned as the investor relations employee of the company. Barrie Field-Dyte has been appointed as the new investor relations representative.
