Mr. Frank Coluccio (and Board):

Here's a little perspective on why ATHM is such a great investment. Nothing I'm sure you don't already know, but it's good reading regardless. For me, its always been ATHM's story and most importantly, ATHM's management.

By the way, when I spoke earlier of AT&T having the "balls" to go after this merger and their overall "cable" strategy, I was more referring to their decision to actually implement and follow through on a broadband strategy. So many meetings I have sat in on where either an RBOC or MSO sat around the table talking about broadband to the home or business only to sit on their collective hands and wait for someone else to make the first move. It's been a pattern of behavior for years now and it's the prime reason why the Telecom Act of '96 has been rendered meaningless to this point.

AT&T has finally made the bold first step to getting most of us a sensible, meaningful alternative to the highway robbery that the RBOCs and MSOs have imposed on most of us for the last several years. Hopefully, as a result of AT&T's aggressive moves into the broadband market, other competitors will actually spend the money, walk the talk, and implement competing broadband services through DSL, wireless and other competing technologies. For if this does indeed happen, all of us consumers will be better off, and the spirit of the "96 Telecom Act will finally be embraced.

To me, the regulators will ultimately have little choice but to reward this endeavor for what it really is...a bold first step in the right direction for us consumers.

Respectfully,
Teflon
