You are correct. That ammonium nitrate explosion that killed almost 600 people was a worse disaster than the OK City bombing, the tornado, and Littleton put together. I didn't think it was that long ago (over 50 years ago). I don't believe there have been any natural gas disasters of anything approaching that magnitude. So, as Alfred E. Newman might say about the gas pipeline to Southern Florida, "What, me worry?" An oil spill from an offshore well is even less of a worry, but of course, many precautions can be put in place to limit the risk.
