about the acquisition: maybe they're trying to diversify? If all they do is lay fiber, how good is that for the long term?

I've read 1st quarter is their SLOW quarter -- perhaps we're being premature in saying "the door is going to shut."

This latest acquistion will allow IFCI to promote the reseller business much more effectively. The reseller business is an information intensive one, (I have this part in stock and can install it or send it to you for this price). A web site is perfect for that. E commerce for the reseller is a natural. This acquisition will also improve the companies image (its own website, a small but important function) and most importantly, this acquisition enhances the direction the company is going toward design and outfitting of ISPs and smaller webservers (remember many CATV operators are Mom and Pops and need help in getting up to speed on being an ISP, they aren't all TCI or Comcast- I forget how many CATV operators there are but its in the thousands). Also, remember, they do "inside" wiring as well. Helping out people doing webhosting with their telecomm needs is a natural full service addition.
Strange that some of you see this acquistion as away from the companies strategic direction. Its becoming clearer to me that they really need a good PR firm at this time or a Wall St writeup to fill in the strategy gaps that are evident by some of these questions from the investing "public". hope this helps
