Can anyone recommend a good brokerage for Canadian stocks?

Good brokerage and Canadian stocks are an odd pairing, but from what i have heard (and read) Schwabb is the best because they are more technologically advanced and orders are executed quicker. Personally i use Action (In)Direct with RBC, they suck, blow, swallow, and gargle your money and make you pay 0.005 commision on shares greater than 2k.

I think the best thing to do is to deal person to person on the telephone, with someone sitting in front of the CATS or VCT machines. I have always done that, and I pay the same or less as TD Greenline "discount" fees.
