OUr old dentist --well- he's not old--he's prior- told Dan he needed several crowns. He did four for me--- for two thousand dollars. Dan, being a procrastinator kept putting it off. When we moved out here, and I found a new dentist, he never said a word to Dan about needing crowns.... it's been five years now, probably seven or eight since the first dentist recommended them. He had three kids in college.
To add insult to injury, New Dentist replaced one of the crowns Prior Dentist had put on, said it was a lousy job.

I vote with E. I don't trust anybody. My mother used baking soda to brush with forever, and she died with all her teeth but one, and no grey hair.
I don't know why I added that. I don't suppose there was a connection.

I was just lurking here, Ish, when I saw your post.

Don't let them cut you any more! Ask them if they are willing to try any of the following alternatives, and if they aren't, find a periodontist who is!

First up is Atridox. Please note that in the clinical trial, the group that had Atridox treatment alone did just as well as the group that had scaling and planing alone. (Of course, the Periodontal Association has hastened to say that ATridox should not therefore REPLACE scaling and planing, but should be used as adjuvant therapy.) Also note that scaling and planing itself is not as radical, as painful, or as EXPENSIVE as the gum surgery they are threatening you with.

Now, go to:

pslgroup.com

This article discusses two other new PAINLESS treatments (PerioChip and Periostat) as well as Atridox:
