Obviously no one on this thread watched Moneyline this evening. I just finished watching the four hour delay. Jan Hopson interviewed Michael Armstrong (CEO AT&T) and he said (and I'm not paraphrasing):

"AT&T will use, going forward, an "open standard" for all cable deployments. We will not use any proprietary standard in either software or HARDWARE. We will have multiple vendors in both."
