Ever heard of the option investor newsletter? Disclaimer: this is a rumor. I don't know this option investor newsletter... they say merrill will downgrade AOL, I got this from the AOL board.

re: 50 day moving average

i prefer to cite a range because AMZN -- especially -- tends to bounce around within 5 point range before making a decisive move (above or below) the specific level, which, in this case is the significant 50 DMA. I noted that before it broke below that level the other day, it traded for some time between 154-157.
