-OT- For those who do short term to intermediate trading, the Market Directional Analysis MDA thread on SI is useful [under Talk: market trends: MDA Market Directional Analysis]. There are some very high caliber people on there, many who are very versed is T/A. It is open to views based both on F/A and T/A. Usually there is some disagreement of course, but it is good to review both sides of the issue for information not available to any one person. One contributor, Stock Operator who has been mostly bullish, but not blindly so, feels the market is on the verge of an explosive move to the upside, possibly starting next week. Some believe the internets will lead. If so, this has positive implications for SFE as it has been trading more or less in line with the internet group of late. We still have to make up our own minds, but it is useful to have the best arguments from those on both sides. Mike

institutional money flow till 2PM in '000 shares
general market: same picture like yesterday. Technology and services
700 buy to 500 sell. The rest :slight buy bias or 0 net flow except Basic Materials 5/6 buy/sell

CMGI: 2 periods 8:30 -12:00 AM where price was stable + - 240-239
Net flow: +180 buy (1X 60 +1X40+ 6x20 buy) 2x 20 sell
When the price slided to 236 institutions jumped in with 260 buy messages (2x 120 + 1X20)Total 440 net buy.

SFE
Till 11:30 AM (stable price) net flow :+20 (140 buy ,120 sell)
When price slided to 74.5 the net flow dubbled to 40 (80 buy,40 sell)
Total flow +60

Although institutional net flow on SFE's dip jumps 100% in comparison to 70% for CMGI ,CMGI has stronger overall buying picture.

Only 40 sells and 380 buys.While SFE :160 sell and 220 buy.
So,CMGI and internets probably support/drag down SFE more tha.n SFE itself. Question:what"s coming first: SFE or the group/market ?
So far it seems that the market.

Greenspan sid: IF productivity will slow growing ,IF ......
IF.......... than we can start worrying about inflation.
The bond market took his words BUT FORGOT "IF"
