Interesting that amzn prefers Seattle vs. the burbs, the same thing is happening here. A lot of great technology companies are going in to some of the SF perimeter areas which are kind of dilapidated. There are funky old warehouses getting fixed up, its great for everyone. One warehouse in the china basin area (which is near the projects) has been renovated to look kind of like the Pompidou Center in France - its one of those buildings everybody hates but 10 years from now will become a sort of landmark I presume.
