Same folks probably were saying CDs wouldn't replace records.
Which are still with us, but diminishing in importance rapidly.
Chris is in favor of DVD, which is a good alternative also.
So was beta tape, and vhs tape, which few ever used for their music collection, but worked wonderfully. How about that combination CD/DVD disc, that's a nice addition.
I look for hard drive and memory chips of one sort or another to keep the music of the near future for the mobile folks in particular. All the previously mentioned media will continue to exist though..something about..installed base.
Nice to have choices, isn't it?
