05/06 09:43 Perfumania, Inc. Reports Fifth Consecutive Month of Revenue and Comparable Store Sales Increases

MIAMI (May 6) BUSINESS WIRE -May 6, 1999-- Company Reports 13%
increase in Sales for the 3 month period

Perfumania (NASDAQ: PRFM), the nation's largest perfumery chain,
announced today that revenues increased by 9 percent for the month of
April.

The Company also announced that comparable retail store sales for the
month of April increased 1 percent over sales of April 1998. This marks
the fifth consecutive month of increased same store sales.

Total retail sales for April 1999 were $8,684,228, a 9 percent
increase over total retail sales of $7,995,507, reported in April 1998.

In addition, Perfumania reported that first quarter revenues increased
by 13% and comparable store sales also increased by 3% over the same
period last year.

Ilia Lekach, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfumania, said,
"We are pleased to report another month of increased revenues,
comparable store sales and gross margins. The continuing sales
increases, coupled with the consolidation and cost cutting efforts,
confirm the success of our corporate strategy directed at returning
retail operations to profitability this year."

Mr. Lekach added, "Our stepped up marketing campaign has greatly
contributed to our success. Most recently, Perfumania signed an
exclusive licensing agreement to develop and market a new fragrance
with WCW (World Championship Wrestling), a Time Warner Company (NYSE:
TWX). The new fragrance will be cross marketed between Perfumania, its
webstore and the WCW's 35 million loyal fans."
