I found the list useful for shorts also.
I think I have another clue that seems to give about 50% sucess. Where sucess is defined at least one up day.

Using the barsince function of metastock, the number bars since the close is below a 2 sigma bollinger band has to be less than ABOUT 10 bars.

I have a lot of testing to do, trying to find an appropriate period for the moving average and such.
