Turning up the heat!

Just got of the phone with Jeff Brooks.

Faxpc.com – A news release will be issued 5 minutes before it goes live. Beta testing is in progress but they have decided that the market has attached a great deal of significance to the launch therefore they will issue a NR just before the launch to avoid any bets being hedged on timing.
Efax – normally a 6 to 8 week time line is involved in testing. Technical discussions are take place between the companies but discussions on the deal will not happen until all testing is complete. The testing started on March 23 thus May 23 could be roughly the date where efax has completed all their testing.

JBIG2 – 100% of all resolutions of the standard so far have been passed. It is highly anticipated that the deal is done. Historically this is the normal practice. Can't say absolutely 100% but it would be very irregular that years of work would be scrubbed for any departure of the standard that has been worked towards.

The complexities of the JBIG2 standard require that only Masters students and PHD types can participate in the theoretical research. Again IPZ has the only working JBIG2 encoder/decoder. Their lead researcher is head of the Canadian delegation of the ISO committee. The July standards meeting is going to be a very big event and meaningful to the industry.

It is interesting that as I was speaking to Jeff he was interrupted so he could direct traffic. New furniture had just arrived. They will be putting out a big news release to let the shareholders know how many new employees have been hired and about the move. This is not big news but it does indicate growth.

Again as it has been stated before, the efax deal is very insignificant. Even the launch of the new faxpc is only a small part of the equation. JBIG2 is a main component but also JBEG200 and MRC are major parts of the company. Jeff is really enthusiastic when he talks about the technology. Most people are just not aware of how well this stuff works and the uses they will have. Right now they have gained some exposure with the efax news but again when the investment community finally recognizes the potential of IPZ's products and the wide spread uses this stuff is going to have we will all be very happy we invested early.

So I guess to close we should be seeing a couple of news releases very soon regarding the companies growth and the launching of faxpc. Efax news will happen when it happens and anything else for that matter. Absolutely nothing specifically forward looking will be release by IPZ to any individual or broker without going through proper channels.

Jeff is normally there until 11:00 every night and he is normally there on weekends as well. I am sure his hard work will pay off. PS he gets a lot of calls from the competition disguised as investors but he does not appear to be outwardly paranoid when he speaks.
