oh oh, lorrie. Taboo subject there. It doesn't much matter that a lot of people who were there agree, at least to the point of saying that Reagan wasn't exactly much of a presense in the Reagan administration. They all liked the guy, anyway.

I'd debate the GHWB part, though. Bush was always considered suspect by the true blue conservatives. The line at the time was Meese, Deever, and Baker were the powers behind the thrown. But Deever was mostly a PR type, not to mention the alcoholic fog, and Meese? My money's on Baker.
