NPNT is today's 'net play....look for $60 close today. NorthPoint will use proceeds from its IPO to fund the expansion of its nationwide digital subscriber line (DSL) network and for working capital and general corporate purposes. NorthPoint currently offers DSL-based high-speed Internet access in 17 markets and plans to expand availability of its service to 28 markets by the end of the year. NorthPoint's IPO is managed by Goldman, Sachs & Co., Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Credit Suisse First Boston. These underwriters may purchase over the next 30 days an additional 2,250,000 shares of common stock to cover any over-allotments of NorthPoint's IPO. Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Tandy Corporation (NYSE: TAN) have indicated that they will invest $30 million and $20 million, respectively, in NorthPoint's IPO.
