Bob,

I think it means that there are only 2 semi capital equipment stocks in the S&P 500. I don't know if there is an S&P equipment index per se.

I called S&P today and they directed me to their site for this information. Needless to say, it is not clear whatsoever whether these two wholly make up the index or indeed these are the only two in the S&P 500 and the equipment index. My guess is that the latter is true as Ian suggested but it is not clear at all.
