I may be wrong , but I suspect that BEll is using ASND gears to suppost legacy network based on gears from Cascade, before ASND bought it, and all new networks wre runing on NN platform.

First I don't know where either that Ascend or Newbridge products are currently being deployed, but speaking to Legacy networks...

The legacy FR network at Nynex was built on NN switches before Bell Atlantic took over. It is entirely possible that FR services are still on NN and they are building it out. I am curious as to why you suspect new networks are on NN gear. I know that all the RBOCs that were happy with Cascade were unhappy when ASND took over and its very possible that the RBOCs responded by shunning ASND equipment.
