Here is a big pick. . . everybody ready? GIC - General Instrument Guess who they signed a deal with to supply 15 million set-top boxes for? T T owns 20 percent of GIC. . .thru a purchase last month by Liberty Media. . . one day before T grants GIC an Internet Telephony development deal for the set-top boxes. . . .talk on phone / watch movie simultaneously with your loved one overseas? Could be. And now T has agreed to use MSFT Windows CE software in some of them, but it is a NON-EXCLUSIVE contract. . .T can also use other software. . . Look at the volume suddenly on GIC. . . I saw some huge blocks going by today. Latest news in relation to T deal: cbs.marketwatch.com Also, GIC has development deal to help Sony put high-definition TVs into the U.S. They also have a joint deal with Cisco for cable modems. And GIC has . . . . well. . .let me just post the link to recent headlines: biz.yahoo.com Having sold more A.T. and T. set-top boxes that accessed an online service than any person in the world pre-1996. . .[ .I can attest to the way lives change. This is not meant for those with PCs. . .but for those that don't want P.C.s [the majority]. . . .[NOTE: Was No. 1 Sales Rep over 80 reps, selling twice the units of the number 2 rep. . .and was one of 3 left in marketing dept from hundreds, when plug was pulled on America's FIRST online service "Viewtron." ] It is addictive, it is comfortable, since you use it from your sofa on your own TVs. . .and it is far more fun. . .with broadband services. . it will merge TV, movies, music, information and communication with interactivity. . . like nothing most anyone can imagine. I have watched the faces light up, when a simple interface is handed to them. . . just this morning, my mom said,"remember when I first used Viewtron and was looking up recipes all by myself within 5 minutes of turning it on?" I cannot stress enough how this single technology can change the way we live. . . . As a trade, I expect GIC to get discovered near-term and get enormous volume. . .looking for 50 near-term [depending on how soon it gets noticed]. . .but holding long-term.
