Ever tried trading in the mornings. Yesterday every time you confirmed a trade, the system hung up on me. So finally after 5 1/2 minutes of not working right I decided to call up , was put on hold for 10 minutes and then told they didn't know of any problem.
Want to know another, PKN split into two companies on the 5th of the month PEB and CRA. Had to call up the broker who had no clue of it. Put me over to the corporate actions guys who said had no idea of it. And even today its not corrected. Someone was suppose call me back with an update yesterday but ofcourse that was too much to ask.

I could give you a thousand examples of bad service. But according to you anybody who needs any service is a day trader. Yes it will work fine if you have no real need for speed and you occasionally do a trade or two for the long term. Most of my trades are for the long term but any time I do one for the short term which might push this mediocre system, it just screws me up. What you are basically saying is that Schwab, Etrade etc are fools to have faster systems, because they target day traders ...
I don't think Waterhouse is targeting only the long term holders ( they might aswell be with a full broker if they are that long term because whats with another $10 over two years). Its just that they are not in the same league at this point in terms of service (speed aswell as customer service) .But I agree with you $12 is a fairly compelling reason. No IPO offers either , my Discover brokerage does.
Please don't tell me I could change brokers if I am not happy with them. Than I know. I just think that when you come out saying they are great, you should also know of a lot of people who don't think so. So some day when you want to make some really fast moves, you can be aware that people have faced problems with it in the past.
Thank you.
