OT - GaAs (VTSS) is going to be severely challenged near term by deep submicron CMOS. A good example is VLSI's new .15 micron VSC11 process, which has fTs approaching 70 GHz. Considering all the cost and supply benefits of CMOS, once these new CMOS generations come online, it will be difficult to justify GaAs for anything but the most critical and non cost sensitive applications. I am working with a start-up right now which is developing cellular radio (RF) circuits entirely based on standard bulk CMOS processes. Jim
