SportsLine USA Launches WrestleLine.com; SportsLine Enters Into Agreement with H & S Media, Publisher of WOW Magazine Jump to first matched term FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1999--SportsLine USA, Inc. (Nasdaq:SPLN), publisher of CBS SportsLine (http://cbs.sportsline.com), today announced it has signed an agreement with H & S Media, Inc., publisher of World of Wrestling (WOW) Magazine, to produce a comprehensive Web site for professional wrestling.
SportsLine USA will produce and host the newly launched WrestleLine site, (www.WrestleLine.com), which will become the online home of WOW Magazine, licensing exclusive content from wrestling's premier monthly publication. WOW Magazine debuted in March with a circulation of 400,000. The site will feature extensive content on wrestling's most popular promotions, including the World Wrestling Federation, World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling and offer a host of wrestling merchandise. As part of the agreement, SportsLine USA and H & S Media will share revenues derived from advertising and merchandise sales generated on the WrestleLine site.
With wrestling's fan base estimated at 35 million people, Entertainment Weekly reported that between 1997 and 1998, WWF broadcasts on the USA Network have experienced a 156 percent increase in ratings among viewers with four or more years of college, while the ratings among households with incomes of $50,000 or more have increased by 111 percent.
