I feel there is too much hype behind ATHM. They still have less than 500,000 subscribers and are burning through cash like its going out of style. More importantly they are better at marketing than delivering a high quality, reliable service. Many say its great as long as your neighbors aren't sharing the same cable line. I have a number of friends (in Iowa and CA) that have switched from @home to DSL service. And they're glad that they did. I think AOL may roll out some expanded agreements with the RBOCs and help support the DSL standard. AOL has over 18 million members and can help influence which type of high speed access they may switch to. In the next 3-5 years I expect DSL to become more dominant than cable modems. Just my views.

Best Regards,

Scott
