Paul - <because IBM is considering an investment in AMD - close to 20%.>

Kind of Deja Vu. I'm sure you remember when IBM did a 20% (or was it 30%) investment in Intel in 1985 -1986. As I remember it, Intel got out from under that investment as soon as possible. I wonder if such a step would be just the first in AMD losing its independence?

Paul,

Re: AMD ? IBM ?

Have you bought back into AMD or are you still out.

If this rumor is true(unlikely IMHO) then the stock should double PDQ!!!

Regards,

Kash

Paul - RE: "Actually, I am expecting AMD and IBM to make an announcement
soon.

One of the reasons why IBM did not want Cyrix is, as my sources
report, because IBM is considering an investment in AMD - close
to 20%.

This sounds like the rumors from a year ago, but that's "what I
hear"."

I like the sound of that!

BTW Paul, Intel's investment in MU isn't doing all too well now.
