To understand the AMD mentality you must realize that profits play no part in business decisions for the company and stock price growth is of no consideration to those who invest. Damaging Intel is THE prime directive for the company and bragging about "foils" is the main motivation for the fans. EP

He's probably setting up a Web page right now with a Java timer counting down the days until June. ;-) I guess if AMD really wanted to exercise some real economic sense, they would take advantage of the initial low supply and high demand by charging $1000 per K7 CPU. It goes against their philosophy of "damage Intel at all costs," as well as their promises of a $500 intro, but in actuality AMD really needs this money. Of course, AMD probably won't do that, because they'd rather make a statement than make a buck. Tenchusatsu
