John, VoIP's state of the art serves as an excellent indicator, a barometer if you will, of many other [subordinate] initiatives taking place in the IETF and the ITU. It speaks like a roll-up statement to the state of the art of the Internet in general, in many ways.

To that extent I am deeply interested in its progress and developments. Favorite Topics tho?

Right now, I would be sitting at a table at the Juliard Penthouse in Lincoln Center. Marcus Roberts is in a private recital, doing some T.S. Monk on the 88s like only he can do.

I once heard some original Monk replayed over wbgo.org (Newark, NJ) coming over streaming audio on the web.

~ 30 seconds delayed, but sounded real good, better than my FM reception of the real thing... due to the paltry output of their transmitter and the siting of their antenna, I suppose. It's a publicly supported station whose output is really weak...
